Delivering Exceptional Logistics for the G7 Summit
Post-pandemic our first event was the historic 47th G7 Summit. We were proud to be appointed logistical staffing partner supporting the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in their delivery of this momentous event. Cornwall has notoriously difficult logistical and staffing challenges, however where other agencies saw limitations, we saw an opportunity to grow. We are so very proud of our delivery of this event that propelled our company and team onto the world stage.
What We Did:
- We were one of several agencies approached to provide staff for the G7 logistics operation, but we were the only company to be able to deliver on a local team.
- We screened, interviewed, recruited and accredited forty-five hyper-local staff in response to the government’s charter to engage the local community.
- We facilitated the movement of the world leaders and their delegations throughout the four day summit.
- We provided production assistants, runners, IT support, telephone operators (24 hours), logistical management, front-of-house hosts, load zone and airport meet and greet teams.
- We supported the FCDO with a meet and greet together with logistical management at the prestigious Eden Project Leaders Dinner and the Minack Theatre First Ladies lunch.
How We Did It:
- We created a partnership with Falmouth University to offer their event students the opportunity to work with us and help Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) give back to their local community.
- We consulted on optimum staffing numbers, rota and welfare to create a robust, cost-effective plan to deliver the logistical management of The G7 seamlessly.
- Our office and management team relocated to St. Ives for the duration, managing our teams and the event logistics from the ground up.
- We implemented site-specific orientation role-based training for the whole team pre-event.
- On call 24 hours to react to the needs of the live event and 24-hour staffing rota.
The Result:
- We were part of the wider team that successfully delivered the logistical management of The G7, solidifying our position as a trusted supplier to the FCDO and HMG.
